“How Personal Style Helped Me Rebuild My Confidence and Create a New Path”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

They say silence is golden\u2014but when you\u2019re deep in it, silence can be deafening.<\/p>\n

When I left my job, the noise of a decades-long career stopped cold. No more meetings. No more deadlines. No more direction. And while I craved that stillness, the quiet quickly became unbearable. I\u2019d wake up every day with the same question circling in my mind: Now what?<\/em><\/p>\n

Anxiety doesn\u2019t just knock\u2014it barges in. Depression follows closely behind. I was emotionally paralyzed, drowning in disgust with my aging face, new unexplained deformities & shame leaving me feeling unrecognizable. On top of everything else, my self-worth diminished to a level so low I never imagined.<\/p>\n

Despite how bad it got, I never<\/em> stopped trying. I refused to succumb to the pain I was feeling. I kept showing up for myself in the only way I knew how: I got dressed. I did my hair. I layered on oversized sunglasses and went out anyway. And like clockwork, strangers would stop me with compliments on my outfit\u2014on my style<\/em>. They didn\u2019t know what I was hiding behind the glasses, but they saw me<\/em>. And those words, those moments, became little lifelines.<\/p>\n

Glimpses of light.<\/p>\n

Somewhere in all of that, I remembered the old adage: When you\u2019re hurting, help others.<\/em> So I found Bottomless Closet<\/strong>, an organization dedicated to empowering women who are entering or re-entering the workforce. There, I volunteered to style women\u2014many of whom had never owned a blazer, or been told they were beautiful. These women, so raw and real and courageous, became my medicine. I was terrified to have people look at me\u2026 but they saw my heart. And that changed everything.<\/p>\n

In helping them find confidence, I began to reclaim mine.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t just about putting together outfits (although I loved<\/em> that part). It was about seeing women walk out of that room standing taller than they walked in. It was about giving them a mirror, a smile, and a reason to believe in themselves again. And it was in those moments\u2014those transformations\u2014that I realized: This is what I\u2019m meant to do.<\/em><\/p>\n

I also heard my mother\u2019s voice, reminding me: \u201cEven as a little girl, you were always predicting fashion trends and styling yourself like a little editor-in-chief.\u201d That memory struck a nerve. Maybe I hadn\u2019t lost myself\u2026 maybe I was just making my way back.<\/p>\n

I couldn\u2019t shop like I used to. But I started to create brand-new looks from my own wardrobe. I styled, I layered, I reimagined. And guess what? I still looked relevant. I still looked fabulous<\/em>. Even if I didn\u2019t always feel it underneath.<\/p>\n

To build real structure around this new path, I enrolled in an online course through The New York Institute of Art & Design<\/strong>\u2014and recently graduated with an A+ and certification in Personal Styling and Image Consulting<\/strong>. The coursework, the assignments, the challenges\u2026 they woke up something in me. I forced myself to learn Canva, to sit at my laptop without spiraling into overwhelm. Slowly, that screen became less intimidating. My creativity started to flow again. And with it, a new chapter was born.<\/p>\n

They say healing isn\u2019t linear. They\u2019re right.<\/p>\n

But each small step\u2014each woman I styled, each look I created, each tear I shed\u2014was part of building EDIT ACCORDINGLY. Not just a brand. Not just a business. But a mission<\/em> to help other women rewrite their story and rediscover the power of self-expression.<\/p>\n

So, here we are. Chapter Three. Still writing. Still editing.<\/p>\n
